Will Your Next Boss Accept Online Accredited Degrees

Whether or not your employer will accept your online accredited degree as a legitimate degree is a question that depends upon the employer. Pretty soon, however, they will all have to move into the 21st century and realize that people are choosing alternate forms of study. For example earn bachelor degree online has become very popular lately.

Your employer will not value your online degree as much as they will from a brick and mortar college. Surprisingly they don’t appreciate a degree from a higher pretige college more than they do from a simple community college. But someone who graduated from an Ivy league school is more qualified than an other person who has finished a local state college.

However some employers are a bit snobbish about degrees it will get you ready for an interview. This is your opportunity to show them what you know. But from the moment they can see for themselves that you are a good candidate for the job the degree becomes secondary.

There is still some doubt about online accredited degrees but luckily more and more employers do start to understand the value of furthering education. Many people understand that not everyone has the choice to go to four years of college after high school. Some have to support themselves or help support members of their family as well. Their only choice is to go to college online while working a full time job.

Now, if you were an employer, ask yourself a question. You get to see 2 possible candidates for the job. One of them worked and put himself through online college. He worked in the field where he was studying and still managed to get good grades even though he was working full time. At the same time he had to support his mother at home.

The second candidate still has to work his first day and his parents took care of the payment for his education. Everything was handed to him. It took him five years to complete college because he partied the entire Freshman year.

Now, you have a choice as an employer. Both candidates have the degree they need but one has no work experience and don’t know what taking responsibility means. The other candidate is the complete opposite finishing his education while having a full time job and caring for his mother.

Who will you choose? Some employers today are looking at things other than degrees when making a hiring decision. Of course you will still need your degree but during the interview you have to show what you know. Not all employers are snobbish any more when it comes to online degrees and many are more than willing to see this as just another choice in education.
